
Each student at Paxon Hollow Middle School is exposed to many genres of music using a multi-sensory approach. Students in each grade are encouraged to use their creativity to compose and record music using our music technology lab. Each year the students are assigned a different project focusing on one or more elements of music. Composition, recording, improvisation and tutorial learning are all objectives of the lab.
Hip Hop E-Jay - A computer assisted program that guides the student in creating a Hip Hop song using track recording.
Les Mis Interactive - A program which explores the making of the musical Les Miserables. Contains scenes, scripts, music excerpts and composer biographical information.
Master Tracks Pro 6.0 - A professional track recording program that allows real-time and individual note entry recording.
The History of Jazz - Exploration software that shows the roots of jazz beginning in the Mississippi Delta Region through the style of Bebop. Contains many recordings of jazz standards as well as interviews with legendary jazz musicians.
Print Music! - Professional music composition software that allows students to print and play their songs.
Tap It! - Rhythm enrichment software that gives students practice on the fundamentals of rhythm including beat, pulse, and syncopation.
Clef Notes - Melodic enrichment software that gives students practice with note identification unsing the treble, alto, tenor, and bass clefs.
The History of Opera - A survey of over 600 operas. This software gives students the opportunity to explore operas from around the world.
