What is the Music Literature course?
The Music Literature course at MNHS is a semester long class fulfilling the music requirement for graduation. Students are exposed to a wide variety of genres including classical, stage, and pop culture music. Being a performing art, students will be given the opportunity to study basic piano musicianship skills and apply them on the piano keyboards.

Heavy Metal, Fusion, New Age, Reggae, Rap
Assignments
Students will be assigned periodic article reviews from newspapers or magazines. One major project will be required at the end of each marking period assessing the student’s ability to assimilate the information presented in the course.

Student Expectations
Students are expected to be on time to each class prepared with their notebooks and a writing implement. The MNHS attendance policy will be adhered to. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions and are invited to bring in examples of their music from time to time.
